Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, snow blowers and other pieces of equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by the Garage and Road Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life. Maintain roads and transportation systems in order to maintain safe roadways within the Resort. Must deal with guests and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Must make note of and report any complaints and respond in a courteous manner. Ensure access to condos, water supply and waste sites Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant regulations, policies and procedures. Use equipment for snow removal, to level roads, and ensure proper drainage Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Clean equipment/garage as required and/or scheduled Ensure all equipment is safely secured and stored Advise the Garage and Road Maintenance Manager of any requirements for maintenance and repairs. Participate in routine maintenance, pre-winter, winter, spring and summer as required. Practice workplace safety. Maintain inventory and Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
